Cara M. Oppegard, MSW, LICSW
With years of clinical experience, I specialize in Type 1 Diabetes and chronic illness, eating disorders and disordered eating, body image, self-esteem, and First Responder trauma and resiliency. As a Washington-licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, I bring both focused training and a thoughtful, individualized perspective to our work together.
Your experiences, relationships, and goals help guide the process. Drawing from approaches including ACT, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and person-centered methods, I adapt our work to your needs while encouraging deeper self-understanding, resilience, and meaningful change in everyday life.
A Practice Centered On Understanding Your Experience
My practice grew from years of working with people navigating experiences that can deeply affect everyday life, relationships, and self-perception. I provide individualized services for chronic illness, Type 1 Diabetes, eating and body concerns, self-esteem, First Responder experiences, and emotional challenges, always considering the person behind each concern.
Thoughtful Work Grounded In What You Need
Every client brings different experiences, needs, and reasons for reaching out. I remain committed to listening closely, building a meaningful therapeutic relationship, and adapting my approach accordingly. By drawing from established methods and years of clinical experience, each session remains personal, intentional, and responsive to what matters most to you.
